Product overview

DSIP 10mg/10vials is a research peptide supplied as a 10mg sterile lyophilized vial. DSIP (Delta-Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a 9-amino-acid neuropeptide originally isolated in 1977 from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits entering slow-wave sleep, and has since been studied across a range of preclinical neuro-endocrine endpoints.

Independently assayed by HPLC and MS, and lot-traceable to the source preparation.

Mechanism

Despite four decades of study, the precise receptor for DSIP has not been definitively identified. Preclinical literature characterizes its activity around enhancement of slow-wave (delta) EEG amplitude, modulation of the stress axis (with reported effects on adrenocorticotropic hormone and corticosterone in animal models), and influence on circadian patterning. DSIP is also studied as an endogenous antioxidant peptide and for putative neuroprotective effects in oxidative-stress models.

The molecule is unusually well-tolerated in animal studies across a wide dose range, which has made it a recurring tool peptide in preclinical sleep-architecture and stress-response research.

Typical research dose range

Published preclinical protocols use DSIP across a wide range — animal-model studies have used quantities from roughly 25 mcg/kg up to several mg/kg depending on the endpoint of interest (EEG, stress-axis, oxidative-stress, longevity). Researchers should consult the specific source paper they are replicating; there is no consensus narrow range across the literature.

Stack and pairing

DSIP is commonly studied alongside other neuro-endocrine peptides — Epithalon for pineal-axis work, and SS-31 in oxidative-stress research designs.

Reconstitution and storage

Reconstitute each vial with 1-2 mL of bacteriostatic water for the target working concentration. Use sterile technique. Once reconstituted, store at 2-8 °C and use within 30 days for best stability.

Lyophilized vials should be kept refrigerated at 2-8 °C until first use. For long-term storage beyond six months, store at -20 °C in the original sealed vial. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Kit contents

  • 10 × 10mg vials of lyophilized DSIP
  • 1 × certificate of analysis (lot-specific)
  • 1 × handling and reconstitution insert

Frequently asked questions

Is this product for human consumption?

No. This product is sold strictly for laboratory research use only. It is not a drug, food, cosmetic, or dietary supplement and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Has the DSIP receptor been identified?

Not definitively. Despite four decades of study, the specific receptor or binding partner mediating DSIP activity remains an open research question. Preclinical work continues to characterize downstream effects without a confirmed receptor-level mechanism.

Do you ship internationally?

This SKU ships from our Canadian fulfillment facility to addresses within Canada. International availability varies by region — see our shipping policy for current routing.

What is the shelf life of an unopened vial?

Properly stored at 2-8 °C in the original sealed vial, lyophilized DSIP retains potency for 24 months from the date of manufacture. The expiration date is printed on each vial.
