Product overview

Bacteriostatic Water 30ml is a sterile multi-dose diluent used in the laboratory to reconstitute lyophilized research peptides. Each 30ml vial is filled with water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative, allowing repeated punctures over the working window without microbial growth.

This SKU is a utility item for the research bench. It is not a peptide and carries no pharmacological activity of its own.

Reconstitution and storage

This product is itself the diluent. Use sterile technique when withdrawing volume — wipe the stopper with isopropyl alcohol and use a fresh needle for each draw.

Store unopened at room temperature in the original sealed vial. Once the stopper has been punctured, store at 2-8 °C and discard any remaining volume 28 days after first puncture, regardless of remaining quantity. The benzyl-alcohol bacteriostat is validated for that window only.

Kit contents

  • 1 × 30ml multi-dose vial of sterile 0.9% benzyl-alcohol bacteriostatic water
  • 1 × certificate of analysis (lot-specific)
  • 1 × handling insert

Typical research use

In published peptide-handling protocols, lyophilized vials are reconstituted with 1-3 mL of bacteriostatic water per vial to achieve common working concentrations. A single 30ml vial therefore supports reconstitution across many peptide vials within the 28-day post-puncture window.

Frequently asked questions

Is this product for human consumption?

No. This product is sold strictly for laboratory research use only. It is not a drug, food, cosmetic, or dietary supplement and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

How is bacteriostatic water different from sterile water?

Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostat, which inhibits microbial growth across repeated punctures. Plain sterile water for injection contains no preservative and is intended for single use only.
